I did this three years ago. I’ve always liked Hancock’s dry sense of humour. I have recordings of The BLood Donor and The Radio Ham I often listen to.
I am a retired man who enjoys expressing himself in pencils and paints. I have had two solo exhibitions in my home town and I love Redbubble. I get as much pleasure from viewing the works of other artists as from creating my own.
Good likeness, I always like Hancock, such a shame he was such a troubled soul …
I don’t do portraits, but now and again I get out of my comfort zone :)
My favorite comedian,i used to cram my ear to the radio when i was a kid, listening to “Hancock’s Half Hour”,a fabulous portrait of the great man,Dave.
A bit like me, I reckon you’’re having a spring clean – or at least delving into dusty drawers to see what we were doing years ago. My favourite Handcock sketch was the Blood doner.
I have that on MP3 if you are interested.
Good portrait Dave. You could do another portait in this style, and you know what I’d like to see, more emphasis on the face, heavier lines on the key features etc. juxtuposed with finer and more delicate work in the body area….as you’ve done here.
another great portrait drawing
Also great, a good likeness Dave!!
I have no idea who this bloke is, but it;s good artwaork =)
You are too young to know him my friend :)
I must say that I preferred much more, none more than Sid James, even our Nicholas Parsons (at such a pinch as such be taken), but then I do have those recordings that you have already mark off (recorded by a blind man if so were one made to believe)So still he lives on, as you shown that he always, even just a little of him still remains to this day, am quite thrilled by it
There are so many great comedians who get overlooked these days, but they influenced many of our present day comedians, some of whom willingly admit it.
OH My Gosh, what a likeness, this is a fantastic drawing,
At last – someone who has actually heard of Tony Hancock. I have recordings of his Blood Donor and Radio Ham on vinyl. Well, I can transfer them to CD now for anyone who is interested.
