237 - HEN DESIGN - DAVE EDWARDS - COLOURED PENCILS - 2008 by BLYTHART
My wife collects those hollow china hens with the lids. I was looking at one yesterday and decided to base a design on it.
I try not to do a straight copy of anything, but to add something of my own to it by adapting it to my style (if I may be so bold as to use the word “style”).
Here is a photo of the hen I used for inspiration. I’m sure you’ll agree I haven’t slavishly copied it.

the colours are great ..you’re sure good with the pencils..
I just finished this an hour ago. I am not the fastest of workers, but in the last three and a half weeks I have completed nine pictures … all using cheap coloured pencils. I really should get back to watercolours, but i amexperimenting with colours and shapes at present and it is quicker using coloured pencils.
