178 - OLD RAILWAY STATION, BLYTH (GOUACHE) by

#As of 20th April 2010, this has been Favourited 11 times and viewed 1,262 times … thanks everyone.

This is my first “request” – thanks Cathleen. I used to love this station, but the powers-that-be decided Blyth didn’t need the railways any more. Since then, a fantastic Metro train network has been created in Northumberland and Tyne & Wear and guess which town is left out because we no longer have rail tracks.

I did an earlier version of this picture, on which this is based. Here it is:

I am a retired man who enjoys expressing himself in pencils and paints. I have had two solo exhibitions in my home town and I love Redbubble. I get as much pleasure from viewing the works of other artists as from creating my own.

    Dave,
I just love this one. Your use of color and the shape of the building is just great. It has a fantasy feel, but not quite. It’s so interesting.

i have always wanted to try gouache, it looks fun and the result is gr8…
the colurs r so vibrant in this, reli like it
and the twisty thing is there again! haha
    love it

  • Gouache is very similar to watercolour, except the colours go on top of each other easier. I think of it as a cross between watercolour and acrylic. Try it … you’ll love it!
