….. Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore - Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore." Quoth the Raven ‘Nevermore’.
Great work Dave! The feathers are so very detailed! And yay, this is one of my favourite poems ever; I love Edgar Allan Poe’s work. Thank you for making this beautiful illustration to go with it. =D
wow one of my favourites of yours! this really surpasses you :P
no really, it is quite emotional! the lone raven is so beautifully captured! perfect pattern of feathers! his wins sit amasingly on his back the grave stone just adds a sort of mystery or something i really like this one congrats
sniff…
actually… its really sad becos,,, well when u die you are alone. ravens are solitary animals. is this symbolism by any chance? very renaissance of you dave :P
Have you read Poe’s famous poem The Raven? Most people depict the raven sitting on the door or on the bust of Pallas, so I thought I’d have him sitting on the grave of Lenore. Thanx for faving this one.

You really are an old goth… aren’t you Dave? Has the poor birdy only got one leg?
Oh and great work, amazing detail!
Ha-ha – less of the “old” :) It was a photo of a bird sitting on one leg, as they tend to for reasons best known to themselves.
