First, I wish to apologise for the sudden onrush of uploadings to my portfolio. They are all paintings I put on Redbubble six months ago and took off ‘cos they didn’t get much attention. Since then I seem to have expanded my circle of friends on Redbubble and more people are looking at my work, so I thought I’d put some old stuff on that my new friends may not have seen before.

Secondly, I wish to apologise to those who favourited works I have just removed. I do not wish my portfolio to be cluttered with less popular work, so I am making a new rule for myself that if a painting doesn’t get favourited at least four times within a few weeks or so, out it goes. If anyone genuinely misses a picture they favourited, I will e-mail them a copy.

There now .. paintings massacre over … I have amazed myself at how ruthless I can be with the pruning shears. I have even deleted some of my own personal favourites, because not enough people liked them. I have lowered my viewing figures considerably, as happened last time I did this, but in my opinion, much as some people make a great fanfare out of announcing their viewing figures, it is favouritings that are most important. If a hundred people looked at a drawing and hated it, that drawing would have 100 viewings, but no-one to my knowledge has ever favourited a work they hate.

For those of you who may feel slighted that I have deleted your comments along with the paintings, don’t worry … I have a meticulous system of keeping track on how my work is being received. I have a word document with each painting numbered and I copy and paste all the comments into that document. That way, I can read it and get a better idea of which of my works hit the spot and which don’t. Great market research for if ever I am in a financial posiiton where I can legally sell my work.
