I clicked on Featured in Groups to see if I had been featured recently and was presented with this:
Welcome BLYTHART
This is where you’ll see comments on your work, new work by your friends and even sales but for now we’ve got some fake activity here to keep you company.
How do we find out whether we have been featured in a group now?
I lost interest in Redbubble when they changed everything round. It was working perfectly before, but now it’s just confusing. I’d be more interested in Redbubble if they changed it back to how it was when I enjoyed being a member.

If you click ‘MY ACTIVITY’ a drop down list appears and click FEATURED and they should show up.
that message you are getting is the one I get when I click on SALES I never sell anything so I don’t take much notice
yes it is a pain in the neck. I joined BLUECANVAS thats pretty good no mucking around
I loved RB when I first joined and you got to know who was commenting and people would give me help with my photos , so different now
Happy New Year !!!
Jane
BLYTHART:
I guess I must be getting old and fixed in my ways :-) I’ve heard about Bluecanvas, but haven’t seen it. I’ve joined lots of art sites, but to be honest I haven’t found one as good as Redbubble, even if it does get confusing now and then. Happy new year to you too Jane.
Bobby Dar
Welcome and Happy new year
BLYTHART:
Nice to be back. Happy new year to you too Bobby.
Country Pursuits
Hi.
Its probably because you havent been featured in say the last 30 days.
Hope this helps.
BLYTHART:
You’re right. It shows how much Redbubble is a social networking site really. A few months ago I reached a point where I was being Featured more than once a day, but during my absence I’ve almost been forgotten.
Oddly, my work has had 80,000 viewings while I was away, but very few comments or sales. I’ve been here four years and had 330,000 viewings, so I am certainly not going to give up on Redbubble, but at present I don’t have the time to spare that I used to have. I have some work in progress though, so watch this space :-) Thanks for your comment.
BYRON
aaaah, Country Pursuits beat me to it!
Our Activity Feeds only show activity for the previous 30 days… if there is no activity for that specific feed, then you get the message that your received.
BLYTHART:
Okay – I guess that makes sense Byron. Until a few days ago I hadn’t done any art for months.
Linda Ridpath
i’m with you, its all changed, not for the better, no so much fun, not so many people looking, and i am loosing interest.! Happy New Year to you tho :)x
BLYTHART:
Please don’t give up on it Linda. However frustrating it can be it is a very good site compared to many. I’m certainly staying, but I have learned a lot during my absence – namely that if you want to be featured, favourited, etc., you need to be constantly talking to people and commenting on their work. I too feel that not so many people look, although I had 80,000 viewings during my absence; but that’s all, not many comments.
You too have a Happy New Year.
GEORGE SANDERSON
I get pretty lost myself, Dave !
It was easy when I first joined but now it takes some doing, just to keep up !
BLYTHART:
You’re a bit laddie compare to me, so think what it is like for us on the threshold of senility :-) Have a happy new year George.
BYRON
Just to throw in a bit of balance about “why did they change RedBubble…?”
There was never a time when RB was a certain static thing. This site has always been evolving.
What some may recall as the good old days from a couple of years ago, bears no resemblance to how the site was two years before that….
The evolution of this site is one of the things that keeps it alive. It is unlike any other site on the net, not the least because it has zero advertising [which is very very cool].
I can promise you this, that the way RB is today, will be completely different to how it is in a couple of years… new ideas, some good, some not so good… try it, if it works then keep it, if it doesn’t then modify it… this is how the site evolves.
You just need to hang on for the ride, it can be a little bumpy at times, but it is always worth it.
And if you are ever having any problems getting your head around how to do something in here, there are plenty of us here ready to help give you a hand to get the best RB experience you can.
Cheers.

BLYTHART:
I’ve been on Redbubble for over four years now (I think I joined a few months after it started), so I am aware of the constant changes, but I still feel that they sometimes change things just for the sake of it, not to make it easier for us. If, like myself, one has been away for a few months, it is often hard to catch up. I can fathom out how to do things, but I’d rather not have to :-) I believe in changing things only if they don’t work. I have the same problem with supermarkets where they change all the shelves around and make it slower to shop :-)
BLYTHART:
P.S. I joined Redbubble five months before you, so sadly I can remember the good old days …. and I did prefer the set-up then.

I host 2 large and popular groups. I have found it difficult to navigate those groups with all the changes. Many groups have been abandoned because there is only so much time that anyone is willing to put into hosting a group. Also, group hosts have very few options now. We can’t put a limit of how much work a member or adds or what type of art they add. Iphone cases, tees, cards and wall art are all part of the “gallery.”
BLYTHART:
Only this week I received a message from one of the groups asking me to remove work to make room for new material. I think maybe Redbubble has too many members now. it was cosier in the early days, but that’s life :-)
Lynda Robinson
Hi Dave. it is really great to see you back again. Please stick at it, and then you will get used to the changes. Byron has made some excellent points.
BLYTHART:
I’ve been here since July 2007 and looking back it did seem easier to navigate in those days.

and even I still hang out at RB… though I’ve dropped much of my ‘watchlist’ to keep my activity feed feeling a little more sane ;-))) and, YOU are still on MY watchlist!!! That’s gotta be a BIG boost fer ya!!!
;-)))
BLYTHART:
Yes, it pleases me that I am on your watchlist James. I actually uploaded a new picture recently, would you believe … AND I am busy with another one.
Lori Peters
Some group hosts (not me) do that because they have so many pages that they can’t keep up with it. It is easier to have people leave the group and rejoin than to go through 1000 or more pages and remove artworks, one at a time. We used to be able to have a limit of 5,10 or 20 per person. Hosts don’t have that option now. If someone wants to take a picture of their cat and download it in every color of the rainbow, we can’t stop that. I am familiar with your work and have featured it. You are very good and shouldn’t ever doubt that.
