209 - 'A' IS FOR ANCHOR - COLOURED PENCILS - 2008
As I was drawing this, I found myself singing (under my breath) the old 19th century hymn, “Will your anchor hold in the storms of life…” I thought of using that as a title, but I don’t think many people these days would get it. As I was drawing the geometric background design, I noticed one or two lines resembled an “A” and then the penny clicked … “A” is for Anchor ….

You’re right, I think the shadow which gives the 3D effect is the clincher for your latest masterpiece Dave. I see how it give much more shape to the background. Not only bendy buildings, but bent anchors to boot.
BLYTHART replied
I’d better mention on my profile that I am a painter of bent pictures and not a bent painter of pictures …. haha.

For me it looks like as if you have placed a lot of “A” into the background, for example there are some very prominent with yellow outline and black filling ;)) A wonderful painting!

Thanks your so much for your answer and sorry for my stupid question because not reading your description next to the painting first.
BLYTHART replied
Haha … I certainly wasn’t saying you were stupid – far from it :) Not many people do read the description box anyway, so I just copied it and added an extra sentence.
