great piece of work
Virginia McGowan
love these Dave. I used to love the etchings in books way back in the dark ages when I was kid!
Brian Towers
What are you coming to Dave; sticky-upright building (not a bend or twist to be seen) and shadows into the bargain? As well as all that innovation you are now drawing life-forms – and very well too may I say. This looks like a few hours of skilled work.
BLYTHART replied
No Brian … I did this in 1987 … twenty years prior to going bent .. (the drawings, that is, not me).
Sean Farragher
beautiful,,,,,,

I know I am Sean, but did you like the drawing? – haha.

Alyson Pearson
whoa! such detail!
Patricia L. Ba...
Great work, Dave. You should be illustrating children’s books.
Martin Derksema
Absolutely love this one. What a beautiful and quiet scene, drawn with so much care and attention.
BLYTHART replied
Thank you Martin.

Soooo much detail in this one and I love the light and shade. This would be good in pen and ink, you have the style for it. Well done :)
BLYTHART replied
... actually, Heartco, it is in pen and ink. I put it in the Pencil Group though as they seem very relaxed about what a pencil is :)) I’ve done 6 pencil drawings and 200 pen and inks.
Heidi Garner
Ahhhh, thought as much…..looks like it, great work :)
TIMKIELY
well done , very nice
catblack
wow, very realistic! black and white, love it
the detail is so gud, must take u ages, do u draw from memory? imagination? photo? reality?
oh do tell
BLYTHART replied
I used photos for this Catblack. In fact I used photos for all my older pen and inks. I don’t have a photographic memory :(
I sometimes use artistic licence, such as moving trees, etc. to where they look better, or leaving out unsightly details, such as telegraph poles. In more recent pictures, I stylise things a bit. The scene here is around the corner to my wife’s old family home in Athlone.

Wow, excellent piece …
