BLYTHART replied
Ha-ha – many thanks. I knew my Yankie-doodle-dandy colourful (sorry – colorful) artist friend would like this :)
For the record, along with Picasso and Gaudi, you are responsible for developing my love of bright daring colours. God gave us a rainbow of colours – so why not use them all :)
linmarie
OHHHHH,, you do not play fair,, LOL!!!!!!... I can and will stare at this for hours, not just the colors but all the artistic work put into the mosaics,, which are another fav. of mine,, thanks for sharing this one,, peace and love LINMARIE
BLYTHART replied
Mosaics, patchwork, stained glass – all these inspire me. Plus my natural sense of quirkiness:) In fairness to myself though, I’m not cheating, because my early work also contains bright colours and I didn’t discover Gaudi till two years ago :) Hundertwasser is another inspiration – Google him … he is Austrian … like Hitler, but nicer.

Gorgeous work Dave. So happy looking in theme and colour. And it’s brand new work too. Good for you! I am a big fan of Gaudi’s work also. I have so many photos from the mosaics in Parc Guell that I took while in Barcelona a few years ago. Such a wonderful place full of colour and creativity. And the building at the entrance to the park reminds me of the house from Hansel and Gretal….
Great new photo of you in your profile. You look a lot younger in that than in the painted versionBLYTHART replied
Thanks. The new photo was taken by myself last week. In fairness, the painted version by Andrea is a caricature. I have a collection of gaudi pics I took at Parc Guell too; let’s know if you want to swap any …. edwards121@tiscali.co.uk

All those Parc Guell photos of mine are the analogue type taken with my old manual SLR about 10 years ago but sometime I must scan them so I can have digital copies of them. They are somewhere in my attic. Will let you know whenever I get around to that. :)

Groovy man! soooooo 60’s/70’s! luv it!
BLYTHART replied
I supose it could be seen as 60s/70s, but I was inspired by earlier work done by Antoni Gaudi. Of course, having lived through the flower power era, I am bound to be subconsciously influenced.
helene ruiz
It would have made a great album cover then and now! Luv it!
BLYTHART replied
Thanks :)
