140 - JACQUES NAYRAL - DAVE EDWARDS - INK - 1987
Here is a variation on a famous painting. I am not sure where I stand regarding copyright. I have not done a direct copy. The original artist has been dead for over fifty years, but in UK it is 70 years, so does that mean that the USA members of Redbubble can look at this, but the UK members must turn the other way, for fear of being accessories to the crime. If Albert Gleizes’ relatives raise an objection I will delete this – how about that.

I think I had it on RB briefly a year or so ago. I just added it again an hour ago and (as always) you are first to spot it.

It is like an optical illusion, Great image, Dave !!!
BLYTHART replied

It’s brilliant as always Dave, as far as copyright is concerned, you’ve stated who the \rtist was, but I think this is a better version.

Thanks – flattery gets you everywhere :)

Very intricate like the copyright laws. I think if you acknowlege it as a copy and credit the author it’s o.k.

If I end up in prison I’m sure you’ll bring me a cake with a file in it :)

Rest assured Dave, the prisons are full so you will just get a suspended sentence….oops! does that mean hanging? All that uncomfortable spiky background he’s sitting on looks like it took a lot of work. I reckon your originals are better than his.
BLYTHART replied
THANKS. OKAY – YOU CAN BUY ONE FOR £100.000 :)

It’s not a copy,Dave,it’s a beauty and perfectly legal from my understanding of the laws of copyright, well done!!
