271 - MEADOWLARK CASTLE - DAVE EDWARDS - COLOURED PENCILS & FINEWRITERS - 2009
There’s a story behind this one.
I had been chatting with Adgray/Chookas about her Exceptional Ekphrasis Group and I suggested she choose one of my pictures from my portfolio and I would try to do a different version of it for the group. Adgray chose Meadowlark and asked if I’d do it in my mosaic style. Here it is and for the record, it is done using coloured pencils and Staedtler Fineliner pens on A3 sized white card.
Here are the original drawings I did:

Never one to rest on your successes, I do like the way you venture into new ground. This combo’ works well and no doubt give a whole new range of possibilities. I’m never quite sure how much preplanning you do but you do seem to have a natural talent for creating textures and intertwining shapes. Dare I mention the good use of shadows?
BLYTHART replied
Thank you. Yes, not only may you mention the good use of shadows, but you may give yourself a pat on the back for making me aware of their importance.
