264 - CATNIP DREAMS - DAVE EDWARDS - INDIAN INK & WATERCOLOUR - 2009
I used watercolour and indian ink, the latter applied with old-fashioned dip-in pens.
The title alludes to a song by Shonen Knife.

Particularly like his green chin!.....marvelous choice and use of colour :)
BLYTHART replied
The real cat that I used as a model has a white chin, but I felt inspired to make it green to harmonise with parts of the background.

what a stunning and glorious drawing Dave…puurrrfect!
BLYTHART replied
It’s loosely based on Mao – our killer cat. He’s really sweet with us, but so far has killed over twenty birds and loads of mice. I can’t really imagine he dreams about flowers, but that’s artistic licence for you.
Mitch, the little’un isn’t so ambitious and tends to specialise in killing flies, bless him :)
Linda Callaghan
Mao the Stalker and Mitch the Swatter…! mmm think I would borrow Mitch to be my fly swatter I hate flies!
BLYTHART replied
He also gives a verbal running commentary :)
