256 - FLORAL DESIGN - 04 - DAVE EDWARDS - ACRYLIC & INK - 2009

I started this a few days ago and made a mess of the flower. I was trying to use colours I don’t usually use. In the end I even contemplated scrapping the picture and then, remembering I was using acrylic paint, I decided to paint the flower white and start again and I feel it worked for me.

Don’t try to identify the flower – it only exists inside my head :)

Thanks a lot for that perceptive comment. Although I don’t make mosaics or stained glass they have inspired me on many occasions, as have patchwork quilting and collage.

It is a daisy of sorts but very interesting. Love the orange mosaic background. Fantastic composition and colour. Not an artist at all but I know what I like.
