31 - HEXAGON DESIGN - 02 - DAVE EDWARDS - COLLAGE
These may look very simple, but they actually take a while to do, as they have to be measured and cut carefully before arranging into the pencilled design.

This doesn’t look simple at all, and I think it is colorful and striking!!:)

I would draw the design in pencil and then cut shapes to fit into all the spaces … very time-consuming, but oh so satisfying to do :) Thanks for your intetrest; I wasn’t sure what the reaction would be from people.

wonderful pattern here….you know what i like best about your collages? I love that they still have a “twist” of Dave’s signature in them ! Fantastic!!!!

Thanks Helene. The fact that I did these nearly ten years ago proves that my interest in mosaic isn’t a recent whim. Doing one of these collages is very similar to mosaic, except I use paper and glue.

Great work Dave. Interesting to look at all the individual textures. You have great patience. I can only imagine the length of time it took to do such precise work. Well done. :)

This design is known in patchwork circles as ” tumbling blocks”. Very time consuming in either discipline!

I am inspired by memories of the home-made patchwork quilts in my grandmother’s home in the early fifties.

The way you coordinated the color is amazing.

Thanks. I still have my materials. I have a few ring-binders and in polypockets I have lots of pieces of paper from magazines, categorised into colours and patterns.
