Fantastic dave..so well done and you have an aura of mystery in this one..
It’s wonderful!!!..I really do love how you do the brickwork and stone work ..
the green shrubbery against the browns looks great!
BLYTHART replied
Thanks Catherine … I thought I’d take a break from bendy buildings, cats and flowers :)
Colin Cartwright
A fine pen and wash, Dave.
And just a hint of the Victorian railway bridge adjoining. Excellent art, and a long-time, familiar subject for me! The stone details are first-rate, and a good sky.
The skirt of shrubbery greens, beats the parked cars and drunks. of reality!
BLYTHART replied
In the reference photo I used there was some shrubbery. There wasn’t a bridge in the background either … only houses … maybe you are thinking of it from another angle.

WELL DONE AS ALWAYS, ADMIRE YOUR PEN AN D INK SKILL ….

Beautiful intricate work x

Very cool Dave; from the small preview it sort of looked like a photo or 3D rendering; nice colors and shading.
Brian Towers
Ah, just look how those shadows give form and contrast. You’ve used the various mediums very effectively Dave.
BLYTHART replied
Thanks Brian. I always value your comments. I pay more attention to shadows these days – thanks to your tuition. I keep that tutorial you made for me on shadows.
Colin Cartwright
Ah, yes, I see the rooftiles now. Your perspective is from east side, near dog leap stairs.
andrea verstegen
I likey. I like your honest, rough style of drawing.
BLYTHART replied
It wasn’t intended to be rough, but I have a very slight tremor in my hand. I do my best, but obviously it must show through in my work :(
andrea verstegen
On the contrary. I wouldn’t have had the slightest idea that you had a tremor in your hand . But you know what I mean…. you have a rustic, rough sort of style when compared to other architectural drawings that can be rather slick and inexpressive. I would say that some of my work too, has that same rough quality….
AngelArtiste
I don;t know how you could do that, and so fast too. Every time I try to do a building, I mess up. I tried to do a castle and I messed up and so on the back I painted a floral, which I do not think is very good. Your castle is lovely!
BLYTHART replied
I bet you could do a better castle … everything you do looks good.
Tom Gomez
Lovely detail Dave, nice one …
Woodie
Great drawing Dave!!!

GREAT WORK
Hidemi Tada
beautiful work in watercolor, Dave.
Firedrake
Great hatching Dave! And the colour seems to show some warm late afternoon sun…is there such a thing in the UK? :)
BLYTHART replied
Yes, we do get some decent weather in the summer Kaitlin. To give an indication of our weather, when Rowan went to Sydney in June he said it was colder than it was over here; that’s ‘cos we were starting summer and you were in winter. My sister-in-law visited us in January and nearly froze, despite fleecy coat, scarf, gloves, jumpers, woolly hat :) I haven’t needed to wear a scarf for two years, but we are used to the climate.

Brilliant work Dave.
BLYTHART replied
Thanks David … and a special thanks for the Feature. Happy New Year.
TFFDavid
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones my friend.
I hope your 2009 is great.
BLYTHART replied
It’ll probably get off to a good start by Blyth Spartans beating Blackburn 5 – nil. Ah well; I can dream, can’t I :) I live across the road to Croft Park (the Spartans ground) by the way.
John Edwards
Exquisite work again Dave
amanda Rae
how the devil could you have done this so quick !!!!!!! its awesome
BLYTHART replied
I wasn’t sure if anyone on RB would even like it, as it is hardly modern art.
amanda Rae
modern art is not allways a good thing my friend..new art which this is..IS a good thing..x
Katerina Willi...
