062 - INFLUENCED BY ESCHER - 01 - DAVE EDWARDS - INK - 1982
I’ve had this in my Redbubble portfolio but removed it for a while. It’s back again :)
I did this using a set of instructions published by Escher himself. The motif is of my own design, but the idea is Escher’s.
Last time this was shown, someone took it upon themselves to “expose” me as a fraud who was copying Escher’s work and passing it off as my own. I told him that maybe the title was a bit of a giveaway as to whether I was claiming it as my own :)

Oaky dokey please tell me what his recipe for this type of design is. Or tell me where to find it. I want to give it a whirl.
BLYTHART replied
It is somewhere in a pile of documents I photocopied years ago. If I ever find it I will let you know. I haven’t seen it for years.

I guess I could do some digging around too.
BLYTHART replied
I photocopied it at Newcastle Central Library and goodness knows whee I put it.

well done Dave, Escher used to intrigue me with his designs. I thought they were spot on.

Looks like some random platypuses in there.

It’s wonderful, Dave. Keep at it. Escher would be proud.

in the 80’s i worked at a printshop that made a how-to about tasselations of regular geometric
shapes. this is more imaginative, hence cooler.
