134 - RHOSLLANERCHRUGOG HIGH STREET, NORTH WALES (INK) 1987
This is the little town where my grandfather was born. I did this drawing twenty years ago. I am in the process of scanning all my artwork, which is why I am digging out all these old ones for you to see.

Again, Dave. Just wonderful. You’ve taken a huge leap forward in the sophistication of your art. Your use of pattern is just amazing. I say this as a college art history major and a “retired” handweaver.

Great drawing. I like this precise and detailed style. I also like that the sky is so white and empty.

Great work Dave, your eye for detail and perspective are impressive – or should I say they were 20 years ago? Like this alot!

wow, you drew so much details- lovely beautiful. u must be very very patient. :)

Coffeetea – I’m patient where drawing is concerned. Whenever I get bored with a drawing, I leave it for a while; otherwise I make mistakes that spoil it.

A bery good, classic drawing, Dave. You’ve conveyed the atmosphere of an old town, nicely. The ‘aad gadgees’, are a real treat as a central focal point!
BLYTHART replied
Thanks Colin – this was the town where my grandfather was born in 1899.

Wonderful skillful drawing Dave. Your treatment of perspective is excellent. Love the way you rendered all the brick textures.

omg this is wonderful…..(must close mouth before fly goes in)
BLYTHART replied
Will this fly I drew earlier do?

talk about your detail….i find that my artwork is lazy…that i dont add enough detail to it…like the background i can see here….i’m gonna stop doing stuff rushed up in a few hours..and start spending more time on it…..just to see…
Mr. Dave u are grand :0)
BLYTHART replied
I am still learning to do backgrounds effectively. Here is an artist who has a perfect way of doing backgrounds that don’t distract from the subject … we can learn from her. As for spending more time — I usually spend about twelve hours maximum, but I feel ashamed when I read of artists who spend over fifty hours per painting.
