1974 saw the launch of the first HQ Holden Sandman Panel Vans and Utes. Production continued until 1979 with the HZ being the final instalment.
These iconic vehicles represented the Aussie lifestyle of the 70s – Surfing, cruising and drive-in theatres. The large side panels made for a blank canvas begging to be airbrushed and so sparked and era of airbrush murals and automotive art. Likewise the spacious cargo area of the Holden Sandman Panel Vans gave way to custom interior designs that were limited only by the designer’s imagination.
The Holden Sandman Panel Van quickly earned the nick name of ‘Shaggin Wagon’ and were pretty much loved by everyone who didn’t have a teenage daughter.
Our Holden Sandman Panel Van – BW1 T Shirt celebrates the Aussie lifestyle of the 70s.
All of our T shirt designs come with optional matching iPhone and iPod covers.
