The Wind Blows

The leaves like snow
Blend the roads and woods,
Obscuring boundaries.
Trees again naked
Nonetheless cling
To dead and colorless leaves
From the seasons now past.
Even so i cling to that which is dead,
Fighting off the dawn of today.
Fearing that season critical to life
Of cold embalmed death
When i too must stand naked
Against wind, cold, ice, snow.
Does nature not tell us
The seasons are four and equal?
Does not the sun each day reveal
The very same change sequel?
Even so our souls must cycle
And embrace the seasons of life:
Spring and dawn renewal,
Summer and noon enrichment,
Fall and evening regression
Winter and dormant, dark night.
As the cross of the day is on me laid
While i cling in stubborn denial
To what i think is best, fearing death,
It only adds unrest to the inevitable trial.
But when by grace and holy faith
i welcome the cross of the day
i find it is the very yoke
That lifts me from the grave.
Still i mope. Still i dread.
Still i fight. Still i cry.
Without a clue as to why.
i lie. i do not want to die.
Take this cup!!! i understand.
Hear my feeble prayer too.
Dispatch an angel to strengthen me
That i too might embrace my cross
And be crucified with You.
And live.

This writing crossed my spirit and brought tears to my eyes… The one thing I love about these words is that you know to take these evertaking burdens to the God of your salvation. I know His sweet Holy spirit will minister unto you when you call on Him so humbly. (((hugs))) to you and prayers. :O)

very moving ,beauiful and honest writing Vxxoo

Thank you most kindly, Valentina. I think I was wrestling with an apology I was not sure I could sincerely make. After all, it takes two. I found the grace to “die” to my pride and was glad I did.

That was some powerful mojo for sure
I see we share the battle

Don’t we all? Yes, I see that too. Read my profile? The poetry I have posted was all written to 1999-2000, two short years, yet it was the culmination of 10 years of coming back from a suicide attempt in 1989. Whew! Like 2009 much better than 1989-1999!!! LOL

Thank you! I wish you could hear the inflection in my voice/mind as I say this. Been missing you, but then I am so far behind on RB. Yes, these words were special to me too as they came to me. My poetry is a mystery to me. It just happened for a brief spell, then left me. That is okay by me. Life is that way, no?
