View of Chris Cooper and the Spirit Dancer from the crow's nest of the Oostersheldeby Kye Valongo
The name Spirit Dancer has both depth and meaning, being blessed by the Katzie First Nation on the West Coast of Canada.
The canoe is made from fibre glass, carbon fibre and wood and measures a total of 42 feet long with a beam of 67 inches. It was made in Canada and is the largest Eastern Canadian canoe.
Chris and Barbara Cooper are the owners and brought the Spirit Dancer to Orkney in July, 2009.
This photo was taken from the crow’s nest of the Oostershelde – a three masted schooner – when it was in Orkney. Photoshop was used to merge two photos so that Chris was in view at the same time as the Spirit Dancer.
