The Grim Reaper

Each and everyday
Lives are taken away
The dark figure that waits’s with his wrath in hand
Taken life’s, souls that have but one breath left

He smells like the crispiness of an autumn night
The taste seems pure
I don’t feel scared like I thought I would
Try to imagine skin on his skeletal corpse
Maybe his an angel in disguise
The devils advocate
But I don’t see red eyes
For he can not see

My last breath has overcome me
He raises his scythe
I fear pain
Yet nothing was felt
He clasped my hand

Then he spoke, with a soft gentle voice
“Follow me my friend” confused I ask
“Where are we going?”
Once more he spoke seeming like to smile

“We are going to a better place the world you knew was just a test a taste of life it’s just the beginning a test you were as we all, you passed but heavens gates don’t await all”
