Degree in Design & Technology Education
I have been taking private art lessons in the last 12 months and after years of ‘dabbling’ in drawing & painting I have started painting regularly.
I was in my first group show last year and am currently building a body of work.
I love painting & drawing, although I do play in photoshop from time to time.
Through travelling I have been inspired by the raw beauty of the Australian landscape and ancient aboriginal rock paintings as indicators /sign posts to culture and land.
Recently I have begun to draw on both the Australian landscape and experiences in coastal sailing for inspiration and imagery in my work.
Inspiration for my work are:
- The concept of ‘the journey’ and custodians of the land
- Environmental issues
- The way man deals with the ocean – past, present and
future
- The way man deals with living creatures animals – past
present and future
- Australian landscape – especially Kakadu and the
Whitsundays
- Early sea explorations, maps and ships and navigation.
- This quote “It is not enough to imitate nature, art is beyond
botanical drawings”(Unknown Author)
I hope you enjoy viewing my work and look forward to your feedback.
