Blue Foreground Arch with Bridge
One of a series of paintings done in the 90s when I was living in Los Angeles. My husband and I walked our sheltie along a road that passed under a pair of bridges spanning the Arroyo Seco near Pasadena. Some of the smaller works in the series are “index” paintings showing the context. This is a more abstract piece concentrating on patterns of light and shadow.
Blue Foreground Arch with Bridge belongs to the following groups:

Yes, actually, the location was featured in an episode of the Mentalist recently. It was our secret treasure for a long time. There are two bridges. One is a restored national landmark—a curved 19th century treasure with a double curve and 13 lacy arches. This one carries the 210 Freeway.
