Love
Another painting done as a 15 minute demonstration for children during Spring (April) Art Week at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts. Kids took turns making a few marks on the canvas, and, as I talked about my process, I developed the painting. I did more than 20 pictures during the week. Most still need a lot of work.
Love, as violent
as spring
as cool as oil
on water
as pink
as humiliation
as earthy
as necessity
as loud
as explosions
on the surface
of the sun
as fast as
light. Turn
on edge
into the next
dimension,
and only
love remains,
like perfume
in the dark.
