Digitally hand colorized diatom from an electron microscopic image. By far the most complex image that I have colorized. This recreated in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island, and Dr. Paul E. Hargraves.

Beautifully organic!! Something colorful in the depths of the sea!

  • Thank you. Since they are basically colorless in RL, I like using any colors I want.Makes it more fun that way.

These colors are artificial to the actual microscopic creature. The colors are from my imagination and sense of creativity that I use to transform the grey into lively science.
