Resting on the deck in the suns rays two fishermen chat and do various small tasks after a very early morning of fishing. Most boats head out to sea by 5:30 am to get their catch. After they return to harbor they clean their catch, a huge task in my opinion and then take them to be weighed in and sold. A good catch is around 3200 lbs and up so I understood. You can see the seagulls in the water in front of the stage where they had all gathered to eagerly feast on the scraps of the catch as it was cleaned. Then they get to get ready for the next trip back out to the open waters to once again search for the large schools of fish. We were there when the Mackerel Season was open and it seemed most of the boats we saw were having success with their trips out.
