I found this gem just off Highway 16 not too far from Sherwood Park, Alberta. The homesteader that built this home wanted a home with a view and he most certainly got it. I wonder how many years he enjoyed his perfect view not to mention a ready source of water before he moved on?

Wonderful find and so nicely taken! Look at all those windows to look out at this marvelous view! Being so close to the river, I have to wonder if it may have gotten too close for comfort during the winter months when the river ran higher! : )

  • Up here Sandy the river would have frozen solid. So it would have made the trek for water shorter. Thank you for your comment. Much appreciated. :>)) Leslie

They say it’s all about location. I wonder why he moved on. A terrific shot Leslie.

  • Thanks very much Al. I don’t know but with the way the house must have been it must have been a very good reason. The all stone fireplace would have kept me there permanently. :>)) Leslie
