Artist's Description

You can just see and hear the head of the household with his best pair of horses all brushed and gleaming in the sun and hitched to this wagon ready to go to town Can’t you hear the words “Are you ready yet?” which would have been favorites back then already for the passengers making the trip with the driver. The green velvet seats were a luxury for a more well to do family. Built in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s many of these carriages are today’s works of art. This one would have taken a family to church on a Sunday or a ride-a-bout on other days. Plush green velvet seats were a highlight as seen in this shot.
