Talk about hidden Treasures. Our trip home the last weekend gave the opportunity to view some incredible antique wagons and carriages. This one from the late 1800’s early 1900’s was referred to as “The Cowboy’s Last Ride”. Tradition had the cowboy’s saddle draped across the top. It was then walked slowly through town to the cemetery in a touching and very moving tribute to the rider. Rebel XSI

Buckboard Coffin Wagon – This piece will transport you back to the earliest days of western settlement. A lot of rugged cowboys took their last ride in a pine board casket strapped to the deck of a buckboard. The cowboy’s saddle was placed on top of the casket. A simple conveyance but deeply moving.(History found at Al Oeming Auctions.com)
