These pine cones photographed one cold, misty morning in December reminded me of the expression in Hamlet’s famous soliloquy and which has been adopted by journalists to describe doom and gloom and political unrest, of which there has been no shortage this past year here in the UK! Let us hope and pray that this will give way to a “glorious summer” of peace and contentment, though realistically this is not going to happen any time soon. Location: the grounds of the Preston Temple, near Chorley, Lancashire, UK. Captured with my Canon PowerShot S3 IS camera.
