A cake dish with a distinctive anemone pattern, which belonged to my mother, who died more than a quarter of a century ago. The colours had faded over time due to exposure to sunlight, but I was able to restore them in PSE. Camera details:- Canon PowerShot S3 IS, Auto setting. The dish was made by Chance Brothers probably in the 50’s or 60’s. My thanks to RB artist, Yampimon, for this piece of information.

My life is divided between teaching Music and Photography. The instruments I play are organ, piano, clarinet and saxophone. I taught German and Spanish before my retirement, but since I got my digital camera no longer have time for them!

so lovely~ a wonderful keepsake and memory of yoour Mom!

  • Thank you, Cheryl. I have a number of such items belonging to my mother, but, of course, each of our children can only have a portion of them, when I go to join her, so I thought that, if I photographed most of them, then that would be the next best thing. Years ago I spent a lot of time compiling our family tree (to the extent that records were available), but it is nice to have something tangible to back up the data.

So delicate and lovely! I wonder what I might find if I looked in my cupboard… ☺
About your family tree…are you on ?

  • Thank you, Jade. I’m glad that you like it. If you lived locally, I’d get it out in your honour! No, I am not on Michael is on, though he has had so much else on his plate recently that I doubt whether he has visited the site in months.

Stunning cake dish, I would probably never use it. just display it.

  • Thank you, Di. My mother rarely used it. It stayed in her china cabinet most of the time. When she passed away, I inherited the china cabinet and everything in it, being an only child.
