My assistant, DJ, spotted this enormous caterpillar in the sand dunes while we were on a photoshoot on Seilebost Beach, on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. I took the shot. Identified as a garden tiger moth-in-the- making by fellow RedBubble artist, Carla Wick/Jandelle Petters. It’s common name is apparently “woolly bear”! The body fluids of the adult moth are toxic.
