Seasonal Fayre Collage - Food for Christmas by

A collage consisting of a roast chicken dinner, mince pies, rock cakes and a decorated Christmas cake. All the work of my husband, Michael. I just took the pictures with my Canon PowerShot S3 IS camera (Auto).

My life is divided between teaching Music and Photography. The instruments I play are organ, piano, clarinet and saxophone. I taught German and Spanish before my retirement, but since I got my digital camera no longer have time for them!

    Yummie!!! Great capture!

  • Thank you, Mary. It is my husband, Michael, who does the baking and he cooks the Christmas dinner too. I just have to exercise self-restraint, as I seem to be losing the battle of the bulge these days! Wishing you and your family peace and joy at Christmas (with plenty of the usual delicacies) and good health, happiness and prosperity in the coming year, Hugs, Kathryn

wow those cookies!! wow… lovely looks and tastes:) perfect shot.

  • Thank you, Lisa. The rock cakes are best eaten oven fresh and still warm. My husband, Michael, makes them in three different flavours, which makes them even harder to resist. The sweet mince pies are made of puff pastry with lids, though in the days before he took up baking as a hobby, I used to make them with short crust pastry and without lids and I used to top them with Royal icing, when I iced the Christmas cake. However, as he is doing the work, he gets to choose which sort to make. The chicken dinner lacks his delicious onion gravy, as I thought that it would look better before I smothered everything with it! I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and a wonderful year ahead. Hugs, Kathryn

  • Thank you so much for featuring my Christmas Fayre collage, Pop’s. Michael (who made all of these delicacies) is just as thrilled as I am. Just wish I could incorporate the taste (minus the calories!) into the image!
