The Bloemenlaan (flower lane) is a long stretch of blue muscari (grape hyacinths) flanked on either side by trees and planted with daffodils or narcissi in different combinations each year and is a unique characteristic of the Keukenhof Gardens in Holland.
Featured in GEMS on 21 January 2012, in A GARDEN SOMEWHERE on 29 January 2012, in THE WORLD AS WE SEE IT OR AS WE MISSED IT on 31 March 2015, in FOCUS AND LIGHTING on 8 April 2015,in 1000+ on 10 April 2015, in ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES on 16 April 2015 and in FROM THE EARTH on 26 April 2015
Some other countries have tried – with very limited success – to imitate it. In this picture the grape hyacinths are accompanied by Arctic Gold narcissi.
