Captured with my Canon PowerShot S3 IS camera in macro mode, two scarlet anemones growing in our garden in the North-East of England.

My life is divided between teaching Music and Photography. The instruments I play are organ, piano, clarinet and saxophone. I taught German and Spanish before my retirement, but since I got my digital camera no longer have time for them!

    Scarlet que bonito nombre de esta flor……
    Preciosa y muy nítido sus estambres…..!

  • Muchas gracias, Liliana. El nombre de la flor es “anemone” en ingles. Lo del “scarlet” indica el color. Como en espanol se puede decir " rojo" o “colorado”, en ingles se puede decir “red”, “scarlet” o “crimson”. “Red” es el mombre basico del color. El “scarlet” indiqua que es un rojo mas claro, mientras que el “crimson” indiqua que el rojo es mas oscuro. Tambien a nos oidos las palabras “scarlet” y “crimson” suenen mas interesantes y aun poeticas, que la palabra basica “red”, que es mas sencilla y nada poetica. Para un titulo es preciso tener algo que llama la atencion, verdad?
