This is the “real deal”, folks! Brought back from Turkey by one of my saxophone pupils. The plate with the red rose motif is part of a tea set that belonged to my late mother, who died nearly three decades ago. It is not in everyday use and would probably not be dishwasher safe! Dedicated to my friend in Istanbul, Rasim Gull, whose surname means “a rose” in Turkish. Captured with my Canon PowerShot SX40 HS in Macro mode.

My life is divided between teaching Music and Photography. The instruments I play are organ, piano, clarinet and saxophone. I taught German and Spanish before my retirement, but since I got my digital camera no longer have time for them!

This is lovely. The treats match the color of the plate perfectly. Such a nice tribute to a dear man. I Like Rasim.

  • Thank you, Di.

Love the image Kathryn and presume some in post to me. Hope Michael enjoyed it. Cheers.Tony.

  • Thank you, Tony. He actually brought two boxes back from Turkey. The other one is is of pistachio nuts and coconut covered Turkish Delight. I am going to stash that one away for Christmas, as our daughter in Essex loves it. I’ll make sure that I take some shots, before they all gobble it up, though, and will send you some via b-mail!

Nice one. My wife likes Turkish Delight not too keen myself. – Ted

  • Thank you, Ted. They are certainly not my favourite, but I do enjoy them occasionally.

    Indeed! Great work.

  • Thank you, Tane. None for Popcorn, though. I am sure that it is not good for birds! (Nor my waistline, for that matter, but I gave most of it to my husband, who has always been able to eat these things with impunity.)
