Artist's Description

The Blue-faced Honeyeater is a rare visitor to the Sydney region. This bird was found on the outskirts of Sydney at St Albans. The adult bird had just captured an insect for one of its young chicks waiting in a nearby tree.

The Blue-faced Honeyeater (Entomyzon cyanotis), also colloquially known as the Bananabird, is a passerine bird of the Honeyeater family Meliphagidae. It is the only member of its genus.

Captured at St Albans, NSW, Australia.
