My Beach of Yesteryear by Michael John

Austinmer is one of my favourite beaches. As a child, I spent many summer holidays there with my family. We stayed in an old house on the southern headland. I learnt to swim in the baths and enjoyed the sand and surf.

I thought that this would be a good opportunity to depict the image in sepia, as that is what the photos looked like back in the 60s and early 70s.

Dedicated to my family, in memory of the beach from yesteryear…….

Austinmer is located south of Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Canon 400D, altered with sepia tones.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.
