This is a photo of the unique Sydney Opera House showing each sail lit with a different colour. These colours are reflected in the water below.

It was captured during the ‘Lighting the Sails’ Vision Spectacular, being lit with specially coloured lights.

The Sydney Opera House is a performing arts centre. It was conceived and largely built by Danish architect Jørn Utzon in 1973. Utzon received the Pritzker Prize, architecture’s highest honour, in 2003.

The Sydney Opera House was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. It is one of the 20th century’s most distinctive buildings and one of the most famous performing arts centres in the world.

Sydney, NSW, Australia.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.

I love it… These lights fascinate me. So intriguing – I’d love to see how they go about setting up the lights. :) So beautiful. Wonderful capture, Michael… and the reflection on the water is just great! Well done.

  • Yes, I like the solid colours in this one. It really is mind-boggling how they could set it all up to be so precise with the colours and patterns. Thanks for the fave Donna!
