Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory, central Australia. It is situated within Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park and is listed as a World Heritage Site.

Uluru is notable for appearing to change colour as the different light strikes it at different times of the day and year, with sunset a particularly remarkable sight when it briefly glows red.

A bloodwood tree (Corymbia terminalis) can be seen growing in the foreground.

Uluru is one of Australia’s most recognisable natural icons.

Mamiya ZM film camera.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.

    What a great sight.

Looks a little like a salad roll from Subway, ay. ;) But seriously, great shot – and, as always, I applaud you for the detail you give.

  • Haha – it does look like that! Thanks for commenting and for the fave Donna.
