Under a clear blue spring sky, I made the climb up Uluru (Ayres Rock) and as I turned west, this spectactular sight met my eyes.

In the distance across the desert plains can be seen Kata Tjuta, also known as Mount Olga (or colloquially as The Olgas).

These are a group of large domed rock formations or bornhardts located 25 km west of Uluru.

The weathered orange-coloured rock beneath my feet is arkose sandstone.

Kata Tjuta and Uluru form the two major landmarks within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. It is a World Heritage place and listed on the National Heritage list.

Northern Territory, Australia.

Mamiya ZM film.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.

Ayers Rock, Sydney, and the Great Barrier Reef were this “yanks” favorite memories down under… Definately worth the climb:).
