This image depicts one arch of the historic Richmond Bridge. Built in 1823 by convicts, this is Australia’s oldest bridge still in use.

Through the sandstone arch can be seen St John’s Catholic Church. Built in 1836, this church is considered the oldest Roman Catholic church in Australia.

The Richmond Bridge is a heritage listed arch bridge. In 2005, the bridge was recognised as an outstanding historic place and added to the Australian National Heritage List.

Richmond, Tasmania, Australia, is a town situated on the Coal River.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.

Lovely shot Michael and congratulations on catching the church without a vehicle parked in front of it (usually my problem). Tony
