Craig’s Hut in the Clear Hills, was built as a set for the 1982 film The Man from Snowy River.
The Craigs’ Hut building and its surrounds were based on old huts from the 1800s. This popular landmark was destroyed by bushfires on 11 December 2006. The hut has since been rebuilt. This is a photo of the original hut, prior to the fire.
This area is associated with the High Country tradition of alpine grazing, as celebrated in the film The Man from Snowy River, based on a poem by Banjo Paterson with the same name.
Located in the Alpine National Park near Mansfield, Mount Stirling, Victoria, Australia.
