A Bird and A Boat by Michael John

This boat is tied to an old wooden pylon on Merimbula Lake/Harbour.

A pelican sits atop. Actually, it is a sculptured bird, made out of discarded bits of rusty metal.

Merimbula is a coastal town on the Far South Coast or Sapphire Coast of New South Wales, Australia.

Canon 400D.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.

Great find Michael, although I must admit, when I saw the pelican, I thought he looked a little anorexic, and had holes in his armpits….then I read the write – up…Lol

  • lol…yes, looks like it has been sitting on that pole for quite a few years! Thanks Sharon.
