This is a view from above, looking down into the centre of the rare white-tipped waratah.
The ants seem to be enjoying a feed on the sweet nectar.
The magnificent waratah (Telopea speciosissima), also known as the New South Wales waratah, is a large shrub in the Proteaceae family. It flowers in spring.
The waratah is endemic to New South Wales, Australia, and is the floral emblem of that state.
Blue Mountains National Park, Blackheath, Australia.
Canon 400D, as is.
