Artist's Description

This is a spray of purple-coloured orchids, native to Queensland and NSW in Australia.

Thelychiton kingianus (previously known as Dendrobium kingianum) is most commonly called the pink rock orchid, the small rock orchid, or Captain King’s Dendrobium. These orchids flower in spring.

This orchid was named after admiral Phillip Parker King, an Australian explorer.
