Stanwell Park and its beach as seen from Bald Hill, looking south towards the Sea Cliff Bridge and Wollongong.
This photo was taken on a stormy day, which adds to the atmosphere of this amazing vista.
Bald Hill is one of Illawarra, Australia’s most well known and most popular lookouts, situated atop the hill of that name. Not only are the views excellent, the area is also internationally known as a major hang gliding centre.
It was on the beach below Bald Hill that Lawrence Hargrave, an Australian pioneer of flight, experimented with box kites in the early part of the 20th century.
