Paperbarks at Yellow Water Billabong by

These large paperbark trees (Melaleuca) grow at Yellow Water Billabong, Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory, Australia.

Yellow Water Billabong, Kakadu’s most famous wetland, is located at the end of Jim Jim Creek, a tributary of the South Alligator River.

Water lillies (Lotus) can be seen floating on the water’s surface. Saltwater crocodiles also live in these tranquil waters.

Canon 400D.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.

    Beautifully tranquil image Michael!
Kakadu is quite amazing … apart from the annoying bugs!

  • Thanks Trish….actually the bugs weren’t too bad at Kakadu for me (unlike elsewhere in NT).
