Tiger Quoll

Michael John

Oatley, Australia

Artist's Description

The tiger quoll (Dasyurus maculatus), also known as the spotted-tail quoll, is a nocturnal marsupial mammal native to Australia.
This unique and rarely seen animal is mainland Australia’s largest carnivorous marsupial.
The quoll was once found right along the east coast of Australia but is now confined to a few areas, mostly in national parks. Land clearing, habitat destruction, and possible predation by the red fox and cats have led to the decline.
The tiger quoll is listed by the IUCN on the Red List of Threatened Species with the status ‘vulnerable’.
Canon 400D, as is.
