I was driving through outback South Australia and came across these old farm ruins near the town of Burra.
Some of my ancestors lived in Burra during the mining days. So who knows – they may have lived in this very house.
The main farmhouse was used as the image on the cover for the Midnight Oil album ‘Diesel and Dust’.
Dedicated to my pioneering ancestors from Burra.
Burra, SA, Australia.
Mamiya ZM film camera, as is.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.
My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.

Nice shot Mike. It’s a fascinating spot. I love the rolling hills in the background. I almost missed it because the thumbnail doesn’t do it justice.
Thanks for your comments Michael.

One of the most photographed ruins around the area – but nice perspective on it. Looks nice with the green – last time I saw it was end of summer and very barren.
Thanks for the comment. This photo was taken a few years ago, so may look a little different these days.
